A Dublin-based solar company BNRG Renewables has entered a joint venture with French renewable energy group Neoen to develop solar farm projects covering 1,150 acres in the south and east of Ireland.
Director David Maguire said.
The land is set to be leased to accommodate the projects, while only 5% of the land used is expected to be lost to production,“Ultimately much of this land will remain available for agricultural production as grazing can continue on the site without a material reduction on flock numbers

The projects will be located across Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford, Kildare and Wicklow.
The Partners are investing € 220m which will create up to 60 full-time positions and another 2,000 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase.
Construction is expected to commence in mid-2018 and completion in 2020.
All project have applied to ESB Networks to connect to the national grid and export electricity produced. The project are going in for planning over the coming months
The solar parks and farms will connect to the distribution grid network and will meet the electricity demand of around 80,000 homes locally.
